We are reminded of Christ’s teaching that we too should become like little children, pure and innocent, in our walk with God.

These parents, standing here today, have humbly chosen to dedicate their lives to raising their child under the grace and knowledge of God. It takes not only parents, but a whole community to raise a virtuous and responsible human being. We, as part of their cherished community, are here to pledge that we will be there to support them in this divine journey.

Let us remember that child dedication is not a secret formula for bypassing the difficulties of parenting. There's no act or ritual that can guarantee that a child will turn out a certain way. Child dedication is simply a promise, by the parents and the community, to do our best to exemplify the teachings of the Lord. It's a pledge to guide the child towards his or her divine destiny.
